Keeping the Co-Ordinator under our paws - Part 2

As Prof & Sykes are snoozing, I have the chance to run my paws over the keyboard and tell you about myself, as well as bringing you the latest news from The Furs as our feline heaven is known.

I have just celebrated my second birthday and in my short life have had a variety of names - Phantom, Scrap and Tom being three of them, but given the white ruff around my neck and my habit of rushing around silently and falling over, the rather more grand Revered Thomas Keaton seems very good to me.

I was rescued from a scene of total chaos early in 2002 and placed in a pen at Aunty Barbara's garden, but was very ill, suffering from a painful condition known as cystitis, which particularly affects neutered males. Thankfully, with the skill of Katie at Alphapet and Aunty Barbara I gradually recovered. In early May my new slaves, Malcolm & Yvonne collected me and took me to their home, where for a few days, I was confined to the spare bedroom. I was able to hide in the dark under the bed, so that, as I have black and brown fur, was successfully camouflaged. As I settled in and became more confident, I asked to see the rest of the house, and in particular, their other two cats who I had heard as they tried to get past the closed door to my room.

I was treated to a few choice words from Sykie and a flailing paw from Prof, but they didn't seem too annoyed by my arrival in their patch, apart from the fact that the fish they have every morning and evening now has to be divided three ways rather than two. I keep them on their paws and much amuse them by rushing pasat them, miaowing when they least expect it, falling off things whenI roll over too close to the edge of whatever I'm laying on and catching flies!

I have been told that I am where I am because of my cystitis, which is a condition that I share with Prof and which is made worse by stress. We have both suffered a bit with the changes caused by my arrival, but our slaves seem to be able to spot the problem and with the use of a feliway pheremone diffuser and the expert care of Prof's friends at the Cat Clinic, who now look after me as well, we are both fine. I'm clearly not being singled out and just accept that she is a feminist.

I have just heard Sykie wake up, so I'll close down the computer and go and play with the socks hanging on the clothes horse - another game of mine! Let's hope she doesn't read what I've written about her....
